Comparative Analysis

The 3 hour training event at the 700' x 400' Siemens building proved "without TED® you are dead!" in large structure fires. TED® enabled the teams to locate and get to an exit immediately, continuously and reliably.

Deputy Chief Dale Metz gives Firefighters the fire ground TED® briefing. The first briefing was in the kitchen back at the station. The serious attention to detail provides the Firefighters all they need to know to conduct a test with important results.<br><br>

At issue: How fast can a lost team of Firefighters with insufficient air make their way to an exit using “Hands on Walls”? How fast can they make it to the exit with TED®?

Deputy Chief Metz gives the final briefing and TED® is about to go to work for Casselberry.

Firefighters ready to roll.

TED® is in place and turned ON. This is the EXIT Casselberry chose going in to attack the fire. This location will now be broadcast to everybody inside so they will know exactly where their EXIT is at all times. Their confidence is greatly increased. Their focus is on the fire. When it’s time to leave they know exactly where their EXIT is. And the time needed to EXIT is greatly reduced.

Entry begins. If the team splits up – gets separated from each other and the hose – TED® never stops its
audio alarm and strobe light which tells each of them where the EXIT is.

Coming out – All accounted for! The answer to the question “How fast does TED® get you out?” is shown in the graphic “Escape Techniques – Comparative Analysis”. TED was 525 times faster than Hands on Walls.
